1. How long have you worked with Centuria in your role as Relationship Manager – Centuria Life and what does a typical workday look like for you?
I have worked at Centuria for 5 months. My role is to spread the word about how investment bonds may assist people reach their financial goals.
I book and lead educational presentations for advisers to ensure that they are kept up to date with our offerings.
I enjoy being a resource for practices and investors. I provide them with confidence that their transactions and queries will be handled in a timely and efficient manner.
2. If there’s one thing you’d want every adviser to know about investment bonds, what would it be?
Investment bonds may play a role in creating or preserving wealth for a great number of investors not just as a means of passing wealth to the next generation.
Anyone on a Marginal Tax Rate (MTR) of 30% or greater can benefit from an investment bond. If you are young, the ten-year rule will help you to stay the course and learn about the benefits of compounding returns.
If you are a little older you may like to use investment bonds to enable you to retire early by establishing a tax paid income stream that is accessible prior to super.
3. What are you most proud of during your time with Centuria?
I am proud of being part of a professional team that is challenging some of the dominant providers of investment bonds with a product that I can see gaining traction.
4. What’s something you’ve been reading or learning about lately that’s grabbed your attention?
I have been reading about the art of Winston Churchill lately. A latent talent that was fostered throughout his life. This interest was sparked by an invitation to an auction that featured some of his work – sadly, the pieces were well above my budget.
5. Who inspires you professionally or personally?
An unusual suspect for someone in my field. John “Jack” Bogle for demonstrating the value of patience and bringing the economic benefits of investment to the masses; at a low cost.
6. What’s the last movie or concert you watched and did you enjoy it?
It may not have been my last concert, but the best was seeing the Rolling Stones on tour. The music is timeless and witnessing Mick Jagger run a marathon during the gig was inspiring. I also love the lineup of Keith and Ronnies guitar collections.
7. What’s your favourite food?
Italian food. Isn’t it everyone’s?
8. What’s your favourite way to relax after work?
The best way to relax is to go for a nice long walk or out for coffee.
9. What’s something you’re passionate about outside of work?
I love to travel and to see the world from a perspective that is different to mine. Cinque Terre is a favourite.
