New Zurich signage to transform Perth’s Skyline

Global insurer secured new rooftop signage to 140 St Georges Terrace

  • First time in 50 years the building will be adorned with a new brand, officially lit-up from November 2025
  • Coincides with a seven-year lease within the A-Grade office building, confirming commitment to Perth
  • Landlord, Centuria, welcomes the global insurer as the tower reaches +94% occupancy1

One of Perth’s most iconic skyscrapers will herald a new era in the evolution of the city’s skyline with global insurance group, Zurich, securing rooftop branding for 140 St Georges Terrace, according to landlord and asset manager, Centuria Capital Group (ASX: CNI).

In April last year, the old AMP signage was permanently switched off after 50 years of lighting up the western horizon and by November Zurich’s signage will be turned on for the first time, prior to the festive season lights.

The new signage marks Zurich’s commitment to the Western Australian market with the global insurer simultaneously announcing its new Perth HQ within the A-Grade 30-storey office tower. Zurich has secured a seven-year lease across 700sqm on Level 14 of the building.

As at 30 June, 140 St Georges Terrace is more than 94% occupied1.

Nick Hunt, Centuria’s General Manager – WA, said, “This is an historic moment in the evolution of our city. One Forty St Georges Terrace has stood resolute for half a century and was once the tallest office tower in Perth but as our market matures further we herald a new era of growth.

“Zurich and Centuria have enjoyed a long-term relationship with the global insurer also being a tenant customer at our purpose-built boutique office complex in Wyatt Street, Adelaide. We warmly welcome Zurich to its new Perth home and look forward to growing our relationship further.”

One Forty St Georges Terrace was constructed in 1975 and provides more than 30,000sqm of prime office accommodation to more than 60 tenant customers

Justin Delaney, CEO, Zurich Australia & New Zealand said “We are incredibly proud to see the Zurich brand become part of the Perth skyline, marking a significant milestone for our business in Western Australia. Our new presence at 140 St Georges Terrace reflects our long-term commitment to the State and our local customers, partners, and people. We look forward to our relocation to the CBD and being a part of the city’s vibrant business community.”

The A-Grade building’s amenities include a new complimentary gym for all building workers – including free lunchtime fitness classes ranging from yoga and Pilates to FitBlitz and ‘Pedal and Punch’ – conference facilities, concierge services, and end-of-trip facilities including bike storage, lockers, showers and change rooms.

Concierge-curated events are credited for providing the building with a sense of community with regular events hosted to encourage socialisation among various tenancy workers as well as company teams. Example of events included wine and cheese evenings, seedling giveaways for National Tree Day, Melbourne Cup festivities and more.

In 2023, 140 St George Terrace was awarded the Gold Waterwise Award from Western Australia’s Water Corporation, reflective of its best practice water management innovation.

One Forty St Georges Terrace occupies one of the Perth CBD’s highest profile locations, positioned on the corner of St Georges Terrace and William Street, directly adjacent to more than 500sqm of beautifully landscaped inner-city gardens and nearby to the CBD’s primary retail shopping precincts of Hay and Murray Street Malls.

Knight Frank’s Jeremy Robotham acted on behalf of Centuria Capital Group and JLL’s Adam Stanford represented Zurich.
