David Giffin

Deputy CEO, Centuria Bass

David Giffin is Centuria Bass Credit Deputy CEO and Co-Head of Lending, responsible for private lending origination and loan management across Australia and New Zealand. He supports CBC founders and Joint CEOs, Nick Goh and Giles Borten, and is part of Centuria Capital Group’s Senior Executive Committee.

With more than 20 years of experience in private lending markets, David is at the helm of a $2.3 billion1 real estate finance portfolio, which focuses on mid-market, first lien loans weighted to the residential sector predominately financing development projects, bridging finance and residential stock.

David is adept at capital raising having secured more than $5 billion of debt and equity in previous financial services roles and managing loan books exceeding $1 billion. In 2019, he co-founded and managed Taurus Motor Finance, raising more than more than $1 billion of capital throughout a five-year period. Taurus was divested to a major shareholder in late 2023.

Prior to founding Tarus, David held senior positions with numerous financial service organisations including Grant Samual (Capital Advisory) and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Currently, he is a non-executive director of aged care provider, Kopwa Limited, and was previously Regional Council President for children’s cancer charity, Redkite, between 2015-2018.

Giffin holds a Bachelor of Applied Finance from the University of Southern Queensland and a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.
