Volunteer days

As part of Centuria’s on-going community support, each office across Australia and New Zealand has at least one nominated not-for-profit organisation to support. This support is provided with fundraising endeavours for worthy causes as well as volunteering. Centuria personnel volunteer a full workday up to four times a year for their office’s nominated charities. Across the business, c.390 hours of volunteering has been provided throughout FY24. Below is an overview of the team’s recent volunteer days

Sydney

In mid-March, Centurians volunteered at St Lucy’s School’s inaugural seniors swimming carnival. The school provides education to students with a wide range of disabilities including mild to severe intellectual disability, autism and sensory impairments. Centuria has provided volunteer support and fundraising for this school for more than 10 years.

Perth

In early April, members of our development team volunteered at the Ruah Community Services (Ruah) Engagement Hub, a vital daytime drop-in space for individuals facing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. Our volunteers prepared +100 rolls and sandwiches for Ruah and were onsite to support staff by organising donations, serving lunch, and interacting with those vulnerable in the community.

In addition, our Perth office has assembled a 29-member blood donor team called the Centuria RED WA. Through giving blood regularly, this team has saved up to 48 lives this year so far1 and aim to participate in quarterly whole-blood donations. One individual, Lynne Ware, has committed to monthly plasma donations.

Melbourne

In mid-April, members from our property services and distribution  team spent the day at Very Special Kids head office, assisting with cleaning, organising donations, deliveries and letterbox drops. Very Special Kids provides holistic palliative care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions across Victoria.

Brisbane

In late 2023, Queensland colleagues volunteered to help set-up for the Starlight Children’s Foundations annual gala event, Five Chefs Dinner. Starlight raises funds to create memorable events for seriously ill and hospitalised children.

Auckland

Also in late 2023, our Auckland team dedicated their time and effort to the preservation of Motuihe Island in Auckland’s beautiful Hauraki Gulf. Seedlings were planted, weeds removed, and debris cleared to help maintain and enhance the island’s natural beauty.
