More than $22,000 has been raised for our local communities within the past four months across our Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Manila offices, benefitting St Lucy’s School, Very Special Kids (VSK), Ruah Community Services and a Filipino conservation project, respectively.
The vital funds were raised from participation in various fun run initiatives. Each event not only promoted health and wellness among colleagues but reinforced Centuria’s commitment to our sustainability framework, underlining the importance of supporting the local communities in which we operate.
Twelve Centurians hit the streets of Perth for HBF’s Run for a Reason on 19 May 2024. The team raised $1,375 for Ruah, a charity that provides support services for people experiencing homelessness, family and domestic violence and the challenges of living with chronic mental illness.
On 24 May 2024, our Melbourne team ran for a continuous 24 hours to raise funds for round-the-clock care for seriously ill children. Throughout the gruelling challenge, the team raised $16,239 for VSK, which provides holistic palliative care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions as well as tailored support for their families.
In The Philippines, 80 Centurians, including some of their family members, took part in the Takbo Para-Sa Kaliksan – Water Run 2024 Challenge in Pasay City, Manila on 14 July 2024. The team raised $1,280 in support of a tortoise protection and conservation programme operated by the Pawicare Hatchery in La Paz, San Narciso, Zambales.
On 11 August 2024, 33 Centurians took part in the demanding 14km City2Surf run from Sydney’s CBD to Bondi Beach. More than $3,110 was raised for St Lucy’s School, which provides education for students with disabilities.
