Centuria hosts industrial tenant mental health awareness events

In partnership with Healthy Heads in Trucks and Sheds for R U OK?’s National Day of Action

Recently, our Queensland and Victoria property services teams proudly celebrated R U OK?’s National Day of Action in partnership with Healthy Heads in Trucks and Sheds. This industry-wide initiative encourages individuals and organisations to connect through shared experiences and highlights the importance of regular R U OK? conversations.

Workers within road transport, warehousing, and logistics industries are faced with unique challenges such as tight deadlines, isolation, and long, inconsistent shift schedules, which can impact mental wellbeing. Encouraging genuine conversations can be a significant step in building a safer and more supportive industry.

Six events were hosted onsite across several of Centuria’s industrial assets, including:

M80 Connect: 90 Bolinda Road, Campbellfield Vic

More than 160 industrial workers across five warehouses joined together to enjoy some Autumnal sunshine, coffee, and morning tea pastries. The conversation focused on R U Ok? literature, providing an opportunity for workers from different tenancies to talk about what affects their industry.

Both office and warehouse teams from more than 45 tenancies joined a lunchtime BBQ, hosted by the Centuria team. A representative from Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds join the discussion, reinforcing the importance of starting conversations early and often, built around four simple steps: Ask, Listen, Encourage action, and Check in.

1 Lahrs Road, Ormeau Qld

Approximately 45 workers from the cold storage facility enjoyed cold-press coffees, brioches and doughnuts. The pause provided an opportunity to review the R U Ok? literature, sparking conversations.

Centuria recognises the importance of providing tenant-focused mental health resources, as demonstrated through the above events. Complementing this is a specific focus on health and wellbeing within the Centuria Sustainability Framework, which prioritises the health and wellbeing of our staff and customers. We look to continue our relationship with Healthy Heads in Trucks and Sheds as well as R U OK?
